Meet the Buyers bookings off to a flyer as airport gears up for 2019 event

Summary
  • Airport boosted by strong sign-ups for 2019 event which takes place on Nov 5
  • Event has generated £24 million pounds worth of new sales and business opportunities since 2011
  • United States Air Force and construction firms SPIE and Mace signed up for 2019

London Stansted Airport’s hugely popular business trade fair Meet the Buyers is returning for its 19th year and firms are being encouraged to sign-up to get a slice of the action once again.

Widely regarded as one of the biggest procurement events in the East of England, the quick-fire meeting concept enables local firms to pitch their products and services to carefully selected senior buyers with multi-million pound buying requirements.

Bookings for this year have been fantastic and we already have more than 30 buyers confirmed, however we do have a few spaces available for suppliers and buyers, so there’s still time to sign up. Over the last decade Meet the Buyers has generated £24 million pounds in new sales and business opportunities for local and regional firms. This is an incredible achievement and has proven to be an invaluable business and networking event for both buyers and suppliers from across the East of England.
Marcela M’Rabety, Head of Corporate Social Responsibility at London Stansted

One company already on-board for 2019 is Bishop’s Stortford based Three Counties Refrigeration and Air Conditioning which clinched deals worth £65,000 at last year’s event.

If you are looking to gain business from companies that operate in and around Stansted Airport, then this Meet the Buyers event is the one to attend. It gives you direct access to the people you need to speak to. Make sure you do your research on the buyers and book appointments in with them well in advance. Allow enough time between appointments to get ready for the next one and be clear about what your company can offer to the buyers at the event. Also be aware that operatives will need to be approved to work airside in the airport.
Mathew Smith, Bishop’s Stortford based Three Counties Refrigeration and Air Conditioning

Businesses and organisations already signed up include the United States Air Force 48th Contracting Squadron, based at RAF Lakenheath, construction firms SPIE and Mace, Uttlesford and Braintree District Councils, and Harlow and Essex County Councils.

To help local businesses get the most out of this year’s Meet the Buyers the airport is holding a series of webinars prior to the event, which will be hosted by London Stansted’s Head of Procurement. 80 company representatives have booked up for the sessions which will provide them not only with a better understanding of the airport’s supply chain and forthcoming procurement opportunities but also with tips on how they can win contracts with companies attending.

London Stansted Meet the Buyers 2019 is being staged in the Radisson Blu Hotel, Stansted, on Tuesday, November 5 from 10am to 3pm. To find out more or to book your spot for 2019 visit stanstedmtb.co.uk
