Statement on Thomas Cook

A London Stansted spokesperson said:

"We regret to inform passengers that all Thomas Cook flights have been cancelled and will not be rescheduled after the airline entered administration this morning.

"Our advice for passengers booked on any of these services from London Stansted Airport and who have not yet started their journey is to not travel to the airport. For passengers coming back to the UK, the Department for Transport and Civil Aviation Authority will be facilitating the repatriation of passengers whose return flights have been affected. We will be supporting those efforts at our airports to minimise disruption for passengers.

"We understand this is a difficult time for passengers whose travel plans have been disrupted and we will be providing information and assistance to any passengers who have already travelled to our airports for flights that had been due to depart today.

We regret the loss of such an important and longstanding airline, and our thoughts are with those at Thomas Cook who are affected. We will look to prioritise, where possible, job applications from affected staff.

"For further information about the Thomas Cook situation, customers should visit the dedicated website set up by the CAA – thomascook.caa.co.uk - which contains a comprehensive guide for anyone impacted.

"There is also a dedicated phone line: 0300 303 2800 from in the UK, and +44 1753 330330 from overseas. Alternatively, follow @CAA_UK and @transportgovuk on Twitter."
